Waiting

*

Intoxicating aura whispers
Proximity of words
Still lingering
Near the tip of my pen

I know that feeling so well. The words stubbornly clinging to the pen and refusing to commit themselves to paper.

You've captured it perfectly.

Does the aura provide inspiration for writing? Or, does it hide words just out of reach in the subconscious? Hmm, if I could just remember that word or phrase I am searching for. Thought provoking words for me. I appreciate your comments on my blog.

isn't it something how they can almost, just almost, drip off the end of our fingers?

hope you are well--

They do that, don't they? And we are tantalized....

I can certainly relate to waiting and anticipation at the tip of my pen also. I like your take on aura. It's very creative.

I'm reminded this morning of how the energy in the Earth responds to lightning, feeling the pull of it and reaching up from the ground a little way with it's own arc of electricity to call it in to ground...I wonder what that is called.

Rob! Thank you, you are welcome...and Hmmmming is definitely part of my practice to call in the words my aura senses the aurae of!

Very well Beth! I love watching the black curls pour out of the end of my pen. I wrote about it here: http://www.tailcast.com/item/browse/black-curls/32610
and used a word I believe I learnt from you! Yes quite wonderful.

Thank you Aayushi, Sandy and Write girl! Yes! as tantalising and intoxicating as frustration can be!...I seem to be suspended there quite a lot recently. A friend of mine used the lines:

'Anticipation breathes
for all that is coming'

so beautiful ... i wish my lingering words were less stubborn about things!

i wanted to let you know, we are using your suggestion of wacky tac for my daughter's finger biting habit. we had tried a beaded bracelet before, but she would twirl it around and it was too distracting. after your comment, i talked to her about using a little ball of the wacky tac to keep her fingers busy, but how she could not let it get distracting. we practiced me reading to her and her looking at me while kneading away with the little ball. we took it to school and talked to both her teachers about it and now she is using it! she is so proud to tell me she has caught herself chewing and then goes to get her ball. she also talks about asking for help now, which is such a big step because she tried to hide this habit. she still uses the mantra too (and reminds me to use it as well!)

so, fingers crossed, she is working patiently at changing this habit. thank you SO MUCH for the suggestion.

Anticipation--the pain and ecstasy of it. This post resonates with me.

Elusive! Good word Stan...finding many things elusive at the moment!

Lis! What brilliant news...I hope it continues, letting go of habits no longer needed is big in our house this year!

Nice to meet you Carlos...I'm off to check out your blog.

They do linger, unfortunately. Thanks for capturing this phenomenon so well and creatively.
